These 6 Things Keep Workers With You

How to Retain Your Onsite Staff

Frustrated by turnover? We've found that these 6 things keep people onsite and there for the long haul.

  • 1️⃣ Be upfront - make sure you've given a realistic expectation of what they'll be doing and experiencing - including all the benefits and possible growth opportunities, of course!

  • 2️⃣ Give credit - wherever possible recognise effort and contributions to the team dynamic.

  • 3️⃣ Invest in growth - this includes both money and time investment in upskilling and mentoring - the entire business will benefit!

  • 4️⃣ Ensure your pay is competitive - people gotta pay the bills, and will seek out the higher-paid work.

  • 5️⃣ Build an awesome workplace culture - if your workers feel like they belong and enjoy being part of your workplace community (because of the initiatives you implemented), they'll stick around!

  • 6️⃣ Get their opinion - don't assume you know what makes your workers happy onsite - it could be the opposite - and you can't fix what you don't know is broken!

You might not get honest results if you ask personally or through internal surveys - so consider an external provider to run an analysis for you.

Black Bear Solutions provides complimentary candidate workplace surveys that provide insights into the things that your workplace does, or could do, to improve staff retention.

And we don't just dump a report in your inbox - we meet with you to discuss strategies for gaining long-term pay-off from your hiring, training and wellbeing investments.

Hire less, gain more, with Black Bear.
